CEO Message: Connected Future

As we wrap up the Year of the Snake, I’ve been reflecting on what this past year has meant for Kingpins — our work, our community, and the momentum we’ve built together. This was my first year as CEO, and it was a year of listening closely to our community, learning, and watching our vision unfold in unexpected — and inspiring — ways.
This year taught me a lot about who we are as a platform and where we can go next. After countless conversations and brainstorms, I have a clear vision for Kingpins, one shaped by insights that highlight what truly matters to our community.
Speaking with people across the global supply chain — from mills to brands — one message kept surfacing: there is a growing desire for clearer direction and more purposeful ways to collaborate. Kingpins is committed to leading these efforts, ensuring that together we can create the greatest impact.
In 2025, we saw that potential firsthand. Our first Pop-Up Show in Chengdu showed us that emerging denim markets are ready for real industry conversations. Our Made In… series continued to spotlight excellence — this time highlighting Japanese craftsmanship and Spanish innovation — reinforcing that when the curation is sharp and the storytelling is strong, the industry responds. These were not experiments, they were strategic steps in mapping out what the future of Kingpins should look like.
Looking ahead to 2026 — the Year of the Horse, symbolizing energy, momentum, and optimism — feels fitting. Those qualities reflect exactly how I want to lead Kingpins into the future. We’re evolving and it’s important that our growth be purposeful.
While our connections across the supply chain remain core to who we are, it’s increasingly clear that the chain doesn’t stop at brands. Consumers are part of that story, and their influence circles back to every decision we make.
From the influence of street-driven trends to a growing curiosity about how products are made — and a deep commitment to minimizing environmental impact — consumers have more outlets to express their values than ever. Just as consumer expectations guide the industry, these values inspire the initiatives and Denim Talks at Kingpins Shows.
As we do this, Kingpins will stay grounded in what defines us: thoughtful curation, a clear point of view, and a commitment to elevating the best of our industry. Our shows aren’t just venues; they’re platforms built to give people something tangible to take home — a new idea, a meaningful connection, a technology worth exploring, or a spark that shapes the next collection.
We don’t need to be everywhere, but we want to be in cities where we can make a meaningful impact.
So as we enter 2026, I’m carrying forward the energy and positivity the Horse represents — not as a theme, but as a mindset. This will be a year of alignment and intention, a moment for our community to come together with a clearer voice, stronger connections, and a shared commitment to move the industry forward.
Here’s to a confident, connected, and opportunity-filled 2026 — and to building the future of denim, together.
