Kingpins Remembers Maurizio Morosini

Kingpins mourns the loss of textile industry expert Maurizio Morosini, who passed away on Feb. 9 after a brief illness. He was 46 years old. 

Maurizio spent more than two decades working with some of the best-known machinery and chemical companies in the denim and textile industries, most recently as sales director at Tonello. His career also included positions at Garmon Chemicals Bozzetto Group and MCS Textile. His insight and deep experience in the technical side of our industry was invaluable, but it was his kindness and optimism that made him beloved by those who knew and worked with him. 

Maurizio’s towering 6’ 5” presence and gregarious manner were a familiar sight at Kingpins Shows and at Transformers events. The industry reacted with shock and sadness at the news of his passing. 

“I first met Maurizio in 2010 when he was working with Garmon & Bozzetto. He was serious about his work, and everyone who had the chance to work with him loved him—not just for his knowledge, but for his passion for chemistry. He had a way of making everything seem so easy,” said Kingpins Managing Director & Global Sales Manager Vivian Wang. 

“But that’s not how I want to remember Maurizio,” she continued. “To me, he will always be the big boy with the big heart, always laughing. People both loved and feared traveling with him because, when you least expected it, he would capture the funniest sleeping faces. That’s the Maurizio I will keep in my heart forever. I will never forget our friendship. Ciao Maurizio!”
