Kingpins Returns to Hong Kong for Second Annual Pop-Up Show
The denim event coincided with several other workwear- and fashion-themed events in the region.

NEW YORK | December 2024 | A mix of denim trade and consumers turned out for the November 21-22 run of Kingpins Hong Kong Pop-Up, the second annual event organized by the original jeans supply chain sourcing event and global denim platform.
Held at DX Design Hub in Hong Kong’s Sham Shui Po district, Kingpins Hong Kong featured 24 exhibitors, including denim mills, fiber producers, garment manufacturers, chemical suppliers and textile machinery makers.
The event featured activities, seminars and workshops, including:
- A presentation by The Vintage Showroom’s Douglas Gunn, looking at the history of denim in workwear.
- HKDI x Advance Denim pop-up fashion show featuring student designs
- Shanghai Jingqiu shop, featuring a curated selection of handmade craftsmanship
- “Innovative Materials (From Lab to Loom),” a panel discussion about denim developments led by consultant David Tring.
Kingpins Hong Kong coincided with several fashion-themed events in the region. The Pop-Up show ran concurrently with The Fashion Union, an 8-day event celebrating “the beauty of workwear,” presented and organized by the Hong Kong Design Institute and supported by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency, part of Hong Kong Fashion Fest, which is presented by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
“This season, The Fashion Union’s focus on workwear provided an opportunity for the Kingpins community to look at denim through that lens. Denim and jeans have their roots in workwear and the historical use of denim provides so much inspiration for today’s designers,” said Vivian Wang, Kingpins’ Managing Director & Head of Global Sales. “The timing of our Pop-Up show, not only during The Fashion Union’s eight-day event, but also right before the Spring/Summer 2025 runway shows put on by Lumiere Runway, demonstrated to us that Hong Kong is a fashion destination and we were pleased to connect with the denim community there.”
