Kingpins Most Sustainable Product x
We are bringing our “Most Sustainable Product” initiative to life in collaboration with denim design legend Piero Turk. The concept is this: Piero Turk has used the S/S 2021 fabrics selected by our independent expert as the Most Sustainable Products on the Kingpins Amsterdam show floor to create a collection of beautiful garments meant to inspire designers. The collection will include data about the environmental footprint of each fabric as well as the washes and finishes of each garment. Learn more about the S/S 2021 fabrics on our MSP list here.
Ravensbourne x Kingpins
Each fall Ravensbourne University in London and Kingpins Show collaborate on a denim-focused competition where students across different disciplines work together to create a concept for a denim collection. The winning collection will be displayed at Kingpins New York.
Spanish artist and denim industry alum Olga Guarch combined her passion for art and her career in the fashion industry to inspire her latest collection of art works. Guarch will show her pieces at Kingpins New York in a pop-up gallery setting.
Kingpins New York Canceled Due to COVID-19 Travel Restrictions and Health Concerns
Confirmed reports of travel restrictions from the international and local denim community prompt event organizers to cancel the Kingpins New York show, originally slated for June 2/3.
NEW YORK | April 9, 2020 | The Kingpins New York denim supply chain trade show will not host its June 2020 edition due to health concerns and travel restrictions related to COVID-19.
“Our biggest concern is the health of our community. We have cancelled our Amsterdam and Hong Kong events and have now made the difficult decision to cancel our Kingpins New York event,” said Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show. “Thankfully, we are now in a position to continue to engage with our audience on a daily and weekly basis and are exploring new ways to gather our denim community online.”
Kingpins debuted a new website, www.kingpinsshow.com, on March 30, featuring a home page dedicated to editorial content for the denim industry, show news and more.
Kingpins24, a new online event for the denim industry, will debut on April 22/23 and represents Kingpins organizers’ attempts to unite and inform the denim industry in these uncertain times. Members of the denim industry may register for Kingpins24 here.
